Here we see Freeway 40 through Kodiak's most populous metropolitan area, Ivy Stone-Stronghold-Sandy Bridge. The southern half of Route 202 was truncated in the process of planning Freeway 40. Due to increasing traffic across Ivy Stone Bay, a second deck was added to the Bay Bridge, increasing the mainlane count from three to five in each direction. Freeway 40 will soon be extended eastward across Lake Landry to the city of Landry.
